Insurance Research Settings

Insurance Quote Preferences set the defaults that every new insurance quote in the Workspace starts from.

Workspace settings set the defaults for every new Insurance Research scenario in your workspace. This includes the premium projection period, commission rates, campaigns and the default options for each cover type. When an adviser creates a scenario, it takes a copy of these defaults. The adviser can then change them for that scenario.

Note: This article belongs in the Workspace, Licensee & Organisation collection.

Before You Start

  • Any workspace administrator can set these defaults, even without the Insurance Research module.

  • Only users with the Insurance Research module can create and work in scenarios.

Set Workspace Defaults

  1. Open your workspace settings and select the Insurance Research scenario settings.

  2. Work through each page in the left-hand menu:

🏅TIP: The Approved Product List field on the General tab sets which APL the Workspace's quotes draw from (e.g. Licensee).

  1. Click Save.

What happens when you change defaults

  • New scenarios use the updated defaults.

  • Existing scenarios keep the settings they were created with. An adviser can click Reset to Workspace default in a scenario's Scenario settings to load the current defaults.

Approved Product List

The approved product list (APL) controls which products are quoted. It's set at the licensee, and the licensee decides who else can define their own list.

  1. The licensee sets its APL.

  2. In Licensee > Preferences, the licensee chooses whether workspaces, users and advisers can define their own list:

    • Allow Workspace Defined Product List

    • Allow User Defined Product List

    • Allow Adviser Defined Product List

  3. A new scenario uses the most specific list allowed as its default. For example, if advisers can define their own list, Adviser A's scenarios use Adviser A's list, and Adviser B's use Adviser B's.

  4. Allow Scenarios to override Defined Product List decides whether advisers can change the list within a scenario. Set it to No to stop quotes being run on products outside the approved list.

  5. Click Save Changes.
