Issue
The Occupation for a life insured is blank, or doesn't match the occupation in the client's Fact Find.
Why This Happens
The occupation is matched from the client's employment details in the Fact Find to the closest occupation in the insurance occupation list. The two lists don't always use the same names, so most occupations match, but some won't. If no occupation is recorded in the Fact Find, the field is blank.
The occupation matters because it sets the occupation class each insurer applies. This affects premiums and which products are available.
How to Fix It
On the Details tab, click the Occupation drop-down for the life insured.
Start typing the occupation and select the closest match (for example, Accountant (qualified)).
Click the information icon (ⓘ) beside Occupation to check how each insurer rates it for Life, Trauma, TPD and IP.
If you've already run quotes, click Requote on the Quotes tab.
Tip: Recording the client's occupation in their Fact Find employment details gives the best chance of a match next time.
