Overview
If you've imported research from Wealthsolver or Risk Researcher into a Plan but it isn't showing up in the Presentation or generated Document, this is almost always caused by a single setting on the research scenario itself, rather than a fault with the import.
This applies to both Insurance research (Risk Researcher) and Investment research (Wealthsolver), since both work the same way.
Why This Happens
When you import research into a Plan, each Wealthsolver or Risk Researcher result is added as a scenario on the Research step. Importing a scenario does not automatically add it to your output — you also need to tell Advice Designer which scenario(s) to include.
Under Research > Investment (or Insurance), the Scenarios list shows every scenario you've imported, with an Include in Plan checkbox against each one. If this box is left unticked on every scenario, Advice Designer has nothing to pull through, so that research is silently left out of the Presentation and Document — with no error shown.
💡 Note: At least one scenario must have Include in Plan ticked for that research type to appear at all. You can tick more than one if you want to present multiple scenarios.
How to Fix It
Open the Plan and go to the Research step.
Select the Investment tab (for Wealthsolver) or the Insurance tab (for Risk Researcher).
In the Scenarios list, find the scenario you imported.
Tick the Include in Plan checkbox for the scenario(s) you want to appear in your output.
Go back to the Presentation or regenerate the Document.
Confirm the research now displays as expected.
💡 Note: If you imported multiple scenarios and only want one to appear, make sure Include in Plan is ticked only on that scenario — leaving it ticked on others will include them all in the output.
Still Seeing the Issue?
If the research still doesn't appear after ticking Include in Plan on at least one scenario:
Confirm the scenario finished importing successfully and shows a full set of data (not a partial or failed import).
Refresh the Presentation or re-generate the Document to make sure you're viewing the latest version.
Check you ticked Include in Plan on the correct scenario — if you imported more than one, it's easy to tick the wrong row.
If the issue persists after these checks, contact Advice Designer support with the Plan name and the scenario(s) affected so we can investigate further.
